Jakarta - If the current wireless technology is the most 'prestigious' is 3G, in 2010 it may have changed. What will emerge, Wimax or LTE?

Judging service owned wireless telecommunications operator, currently 3G-based services - and the result was an increase from - still the flagship product of a 'prestigious'. Just look at each other a few operators who claim their network capabilities.

Now, entering 2010, if the 3G is still going to be a belle? Yet another technological successor to 3G is starting to sound repercussions, especially Wimax and LTE.

Mochammad Irzan, Senior Technical Consultant, Juniper Networks, while talking to some media in the Gran Melia, Jakarta, admitted pending WiMAX-based service provider to appear in 2010. After all, he said, had pocketed some of the licenses from the government.

Irzan said, WiMAX can be used for two things: first as a direct connection to the end user and the second as a back haul connections that use the service.

"If sold directly to users, which I want to see is what price they offer. If you can more cheaply than they are now, it could crowded," he said.

If any will come to the end customer, Wimax providers need to consider competitors which is actually a veteran players, mobile telecommunications operators.

On the other hand, WiMAX can be used as a backhaul to support the existing mobile operators. Substantial capacity enable WiMAX used for this purpose. Especially since the wireless network capabilities that mobile operators is limited by frequency.

Well, how about the Long Term Evolution (LTE). The technology was mentioned as a successor to 3G, 4G alias, according Irzan still not going to come to Indonesia in 2010.

"LTE in Indonesian mash 2 or 3 years. Operator in the country we still wait and see," Irzan explicitly.
